Working together to support local businesses and the surrounding community

We act as a link between local, regional and national business groups, decision makers, local Chambers of Trade, North Tyneside Council, the education sector and the third sector.

We all run our organisations in the same geographical area and share similar goals, so why not work closely together to support local businesses and the surrounding community?

As a member of the Business Forum – which is free of charge – you can express your business views to key decision makers to help generate economic prosperity, business growth and employment.

Our Partners

Here’s a little more information about the partners we work alongside:

North Tyneside Council

North Tyneside Council supports the Business Forum as part of its commitment to helping local businesses grow and succeed. North Tyneside Council works alongside our community-led network to strengthen connections across the business community and ensure firms can access advice and support on areas such as premises, funding, start-ups, and inward investment. North Tyneside Council’s Business and Enterprise team also provides practical guidance through Business Development Officers, offering advice and signposting on everything from recruitment and business planning to accessing funding opportunities.

Whitley Bay Chamber of Trade

The Whitley Bay Chamber of Trade is a growing association that works to support local businesses and represent the needs of all organisations in the community. We provide support, networking opportunities and regular communications with members to create a business community in the town. Signing up as a member of Whitley Bay Chamber enables local businesses to have their voice heard on local issues which may affect the business community as a whole.

North Shields Business Chamber

The North Shields Business Chamber works in partnership with North Tyneside Council, the Town Centre Representative for North Shields, Northumbria Police and the Tourism department, to ensure North Shields is a fabulous place to live, work and visit. There are exciting plans to regenerate North Shields town centre and the Chamber needs the views of local business on how to achieve this. North Shields Business Chamber strives to help traders and the local community. Their services are available to members from retail, the service industry and professional services companies.

Sector Connector

The Sector Connector project gathers support from the local business sector for local community organisations. This support could include the donation of time and skills (i.e. volunteering), or it could take the form of businesses offering goods, services and facilities to the voluntary sector on a discounted or donated basis. The project has supported over 100 voluntary groups so far and has involved over 70 businesses. Businesses who engage in the project benefit from a range of positive PR opportunities including press releases and references on the project website; other opportunities are being developed.
